Surrey Park 12/U Team: We Wish You Well!
14/12/08 FUNDRAISING SUCCESS
As well as Club Championships on Sunday, many wonderful Surrey Park families have volunteered their time and expertise over the last two weekends selling Christmas Trees and amazing creations at the cake stall! The combined efforts of these two activities raised over a wopping $4000 for our club. This money will help provide two sun shelters for our swimmers straight away which can be used for all outdoor competitions and functions. These funds will also help purchase State and National Team polo shirts and pay for our swimmers competing the State Championships plus much more.

Thankyou to everyone who baked, helped set up pack up and sell cakes on Saturday and again on Sunday. Thanks to our Christmas Tree team who drove to Daylesford each weekend to pick up our trees. Some wearing gumboots were spotted delivering trees from the backs of utes whilst others stayed camped out in the car park in the pouring rain selling to all who came past! You all know who you are - thankyou for making such a HUGE DIFFERENCE to our club!

30/10/08 surrey park achieves gold award in 2008 goclub pb awards scheme
Surrey Park Swimming Club is now a GOLD Award recipient of the 2008 GoClub PB Awards scheme
Australian Unity GO Club PB is a national swimming club standard established to recognise and reward swimming clubs by measuring their performance across five key areas:
- Membership: measuring the clubs ability to attract new members and maintain or increase its existing membership base.
- Administration: measuring the clubs ability to operate efficiently, safely and remain financially viable.
- Activities: measuring the clubs participation levels from club nights through to national championships, and also the number of social activities on offer for its members.
- Coaching and Officiating: Measuring the number of technical officials available, the coach to swimmer ratio, and the level of participation in regional and state development activities.
- Marketing and Promotion: measuring the clubs commitment to communication with its membership and the ability to attract sponsorship dollars, through promotion utilising local media, web page and activities for non member organisations.
Results from the 2008 Australian Unity GO CLUB PB workbooks reveal swimming clubs around the nation are improving their performance and management structures providing a better environment for all members, athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and parents. Thanks to our president, staff and club committee who have worked hard to help Surrey Park achieve the GO CLUB PB GOLD LEVEL.
